How do I know that the Holiday Accommodation exists?

Your Holiday Directory Limited is an on-line Advertising Company.  We do not visit any of the holiday accommodations advertised on the website. We do make every effort to ensure the legitimacy of the advertiser, but there are certain measures you can take, and checks you can make, as an individual to satisfy yourself that the accommodation exists.  We do recommend that you consider these for your own peace of mind:

Tick On each advert you will see how long the holiday accommodation has advertised with us and how long the owner themselves have advertised with us.

Tick Most of our advertisers have their own webpage, adding to their legitimacy.

Tick Always speak to the owner/advertiser personally before making a payment to them.

Tick A legitimate advertiser will welcome requests for references.

Tick Use the internet search engines to obtain more information.

Tick We encourage our advertisers to keep their ‘reviews page’ up to date.

How can I pay for my Holiday Accommodation?

Tick The enquiries, bookings, arrangements and payment of holiday accommodation are made directly with the owner/advertiser.

Tick All advertisers have the option to note their accepted methods of payments on their advert.  It is normal for a deposit and security deposit to be requested, the balance being payable a set period of time in advance of your holiday. All advertisers will have different payment requirements.

Tick Credit cards offer more security for both parties and, where possible, we would recommend that you use this payment method.

Tick It is normal to ask the advertiser for invoices and receipts for payments made.

Is Your Holiday Directory IATA/ABTA/ATOL Registered?

We are a holiday accommodation advertising company and so do not need this certification.

IATA, ABTA and ATOL registration applies to companies who offer package holidays and/or flights.  IATA, ABTA and ATOL are bonding systems to ensure that your money is safe.  One of the key safeguards is to repatriate customers who have flown overseas, should a company go bankrupt.  Make sure the company you book your flights with is reputable – ensure they are IATA, ABTA or ATOL registered.

If the advertiser offering you holiday accommodation is arranging your flights, do make sure they have IATA/ABTA/ATOL registration.

Travel Insurance

The cost of travel insurance will not be included in the cost of your holiday accommodation and so it is essential that you arrange this separately, yourself.

We do recommend that you purchase travel insurance.  Indeed, some countries insist upon it.  Some owners/advertisers may insist on seeing your insurance documents before finalising your holiday accommodation.

Please remember that it is in your own best interest (and for your own peace of mind) to insure yourself and your family against injury, health issues, loss and/or damage of personal property.  Be protected against the unexpected.
