The name "Reus" distinguishes the family who once owned this handsome house. Senor Reus made his fortune in the early nineteenth century by exporting citrus fruits from Mallorca to France.

He introduced Parisian touches to the interior of the house, adding extra elegance to the otherwise traditional, Mallorquin architecture and furnishings. It is this, unique character which the current British owners, Sue and Nick Guthrie, seek to preserve.

Nearest Beach	:	Soller's famous tramway, built in 1913, take you to the sea at Puerto Soller in 15 minutes, for the princely sum of one euro.
Nearest Bar/Pub	:	In Puerto Soller, there are bars aplenty.
Nearest Restaurant	:	In Puerto Soller, there are first class fish restaurants aplenty.

Travel

With a car, the opportunities to explore are endless. The fashionable town and beach at Deia are only 20 minutes drive away. The summer palace of the Archduke Luis Salvador is a further five minutes along the road which eventually takes you to Valdemossa and the convent where George Sands and Chopin once wintered in Mallorca.

And without a car, there is a regular train service (an antique train with mahogany fittings and narrow guage) which rattles and hoots its way to Palma in just over an hour.

Additional information	:	Puig Major: Our suite offers comfort, elegance and romance, much favoured by honeymoon couples or by those who simply want to spoil themselves. A large four poster bed dominates the bedroom. L'Ofre: Twin beds can be separated or pushed together to make a double bed. Alfabia: Alfabia is similar to L'Ofre, only very slightly smaller. Sa Paisa: Our garden room is also favoured by honeymoon couples and those who want complete privacy. Situated away from the main hotel building, in the garden. Ca ses Jaies: It has a small sitting area with doors which open onto the terrace. The bedroom has a double bed and, more unusually, the trunk of a one hundred year old olive tree in one corner and ideal to hang your hat on! Almallutx: Two good sized beds can be pushed together to make a double. Masanella: A comfortable double bed is draped with green nets (a decorative feature in winter, a mosquito precaution in summer) which gives the room a warm and romantic feel. Sa Rateta: One of the most versatile rooms in Ca'n Reus. Two twin beds can be pushed together to make a double or, separated by a bedside table, a comfortable twin bedded room. It is cheaper than the other rooms because it is slightly smaller.

Golf

The golfing opportunites have expanded hugely on the island of Mallorca over the last few years which now offers some of the finest golf courses in Europe. The island is becoming increasingly popular among all year round golfers wanting to escape the cold and rain sodden courses back home. Closest to Fornalutx, we would recommend the 18 hole course at Bunyola which was opened in 1998. Not too far away are the oldest and most exclusive courses on the island, Son Vida (near Palma) and Real Golf de Bendinat.
